Participational bodies and committees

The faculty board of the Faculty of Science is supported by participation bodies (representative council and faculty student council), the education policy committee, programme committees, and informal committees such as PROBE.

Faculty Joint Assembly

In the Faculty Joint Assembly (FJA), staff and students meet with the Faculty Board to discuss the general and strategic policy of the faculty. The interest of faculty staff is represented by the Representative Council and students interest is represented by the the Faculty Student Council (FSC). Meetings take place regularly and are, in principle, open to the public.

Representative Council

The Representative Council (RC) of the Faculty of Science is one of the councils of the Works Council (WC) of the Radboud University. The RC consists of members coming from various sectors and departments at the faculty. The RC represents all employees during the Faculty Joint Assembly, the FJA.

Faculty Student Council

The Faculty Student Council (FSC) represents all students of the faculty in the FJA. Through collaboration with student participational bodies and direct contact with students, the FSR identifies important issues within the faculty and works on suitable solutions. The aim is to improve the study environment for all students. Follow the FSC on Instagram.

The student assessor is a member of the faculty board and represent the student’s perspective. The student assessor is also in contact with all other bodies in the faculty relating to students and keep them involved and up-to-date.

Education Policy Committee

The main goal of the Education Policy Committee (EPC) is to discuss questions regarding existing education policy and to give advice regarding new policies.

Programme Committees Faculty of Science

Each programme cluster within the Faculty of Science has a Programme Committee (PC), where students and lecturers work together to monitor education and provide advice on educational policy.

The Institute assessor has an advisory function within the Educational Institute, where it represents the students of their specific study. Additionally, the institute assessor forms the link between the Educational Institute and the Programme Committee of their studies. The current institute assessors are:

PROBE

PROBE serves as a gateway between PhD students, the FNWI board, graduate schools, and PON. PROBE commits itself to improving the PhD experience at the Faculty of Science, through signalling issues and complaints concerning the PhD trajectory (i.e. PhD courses, teaching obligations, supervision, defence). Despite lacking formal policy voice, PROBE believes to impact PhD trajectory quality by addressing issues.
