Research support Faculty of Science

You can contact several departments within the Faculty of Science that help you finance, start, conduct and valorise your research. These departments are: Finance & Control (F&C), Human Resources (HR), Legal Affairs (LA) en Radboud Innovation Science (RIS). These departments work closely together and with the central research support services of Radboud University.

Finance & Control

When should you contact us?

For research plans with financial aspects, such as grant applications, paid research assignments, or collaborations with financial contributions
For questions about potential financial aspects within (prospective) research or collaborations

What can we do for you?

Review of (external) budgets, rates and grant amounts for research projects
Financial support in preparing quotations
Preparation of mandatory internal budgets for each research project
Advice on financial aspects within collaborations
Support with forecasts and budgets of institutes
Calculations of salary costs and cost prices
Creating specifications and assistance with other financial matters
Timely processing of applications (2 weeks before deadline, 3 months for large consortium projects if RU is consortium leader)

Human Resources

When should you contact us?

For contract extensions of existing staff within research projects
For new positions requiring staff appointments or recruitment
For (long-term) deployment of RU staff at partner organisations within collaborations, either domestically or abroad
When deploying staff without an employment contract at the university (e.g. payroll constructions, temporary employees through employment agencies, self-employed professionals)

What can we do for you?

Advice on staffing, contract extensions, job profiles and salary scales
Support with recruitment and selection of new staff
Guidance on staff exchanges with partners, including secondment agreements and international assignments

Legal Affairs

Legal Affairs is part of the Faculty Office.

When should you contact us?

When entering into (research) collaborations with external parties, including reviewing contracts and terms
When exchanging confidential information with external parties about research or collaborations
When contracts or legal documents need to be signed by the dean (sole signatory authority within the Faculty of Science)
When legal advice is needed on contracts or intellectual property

What can we do for you?

Draft and review contracts, quotations, declarations and grant conditions
Facilitate signing by the dean
Support contract negotiations
Provide legal advice, particularly on intellectual property law
