Course enrollment students International and European Law

Step-by-step guide : Course Choices for the Master International and European Law

Enrolling in Courses

As the new semester approaches, it is important to register for the courses you wish to take during that semester. The registration procedure varies depending on the student, so it is crucial to check the specific conditions that apply to you (see the Step-by-step Guide).
Registrations open on specific dates, typically around 09:00 AM.

Exchange students

Exchange students cannot register themselves. They are registered by the International Office Law for the courses included in their Learning Agreements (max. 2 weeks before the start of the semester).

Course registration periods:

  • Semester 1: enrollment information published on July 1
  • Semester 2: enrollment information published on December 1

As a full-time Master’s student, you can register for Master’s courses via Osiris from 14 August to 31 August . For an overview of available courses and their codes, consult the online course guide for your Master’s programme or specialisation.

Check your registration in Osiris

It is your responsibility to ensure that you are correctly registered. It is important to use the correct course code. After registering, make sure you are enrolled in both the lecture and the first exam opportunity. You can verify this in Osiris. If Osiris is not functioning properly, wait a few minutes before trying to log in again to avoid overloading the server. If anything goes wrong with your registration or if you are unsure, contact the International Office of Law immediately (internationaloffice [at] jur.ru.nl).

In case of personal issues, always contact the International Office first.

Step-by-step guide

  1. Review the study programme
Take a look at the study programme of the master’s specialisation you are registered for. This will help you understand which courses match your interests.
  2. Submit your course choices using the form
Use this form to indicate which courses you would like to take. Be sure to check the study load, the different types of courses (compulsory, semi-optional and optional)  and the teaching periods in which the courses are offered. We recommend to choose four courses in your first semester and three courses in your second semester.
  3. Wait for approval from the International Office (Law)
Your request will be reviewed by the International Office of the Law Faculty. You will receive a response once your course selection is approved, or if adjustments are needed.
  4. Courses approved? Register in Osiris
Once your course selection has been approved, you can officially register for the courses in Osiris.
Registration for courses in Osiris is possible from 14 up until 31 August.
Master courses within the Faculty of Law can be cancelled in case of insufficient enrollment. Enrolled students will be informed personally.
  5. Master's thesis
You will  write your master's thesis for International and European Law within the master's thesis supervision programme from our faculty. You can register for the course ‘JUR-4SCRIIEL’ via Osiris during the registration period in August. After registration you will get access to the Brightspace module for further information and registration options.
