Radboud University Higher Education

Research group

Within our research group, we focus on student motivation, cognitive and non-cognitive development in higher education contexts, and higher education for equity and sustainability. We aim to offer novel insights into students’ cognitive and non-cognitive development, equal educational opportunities, and associated teaching practices to feed innovations in higher education.

Research

Our research uses quantitative and qualitative methods to investigate higher education student development. These methods include surveys, longitudinal studies, interviews, lab experiments, fMRI research, and the development and evaluation of interventions. Our research delves into various topics, including the transition from secondary to higher education, motivation and curiosity, self-regulation, performance pressure, transformational learning for sustainable higher education, teacher professionalisation, and educational inequality.
