Brain, Body and Technology Lab

The Brain, Body and Technology (BBT) Lab in the Donders Centre for Cognition at Radboud University focuses on understanding the neural computations used by the human brain to construct and update internal models of the body. We employ a variety of techniques, including behavioral and neuroimaging (M/EEG) methods, as well as computational modelling and machine learning. Our primary goals are to understand:

  1. How the brain transforms perhipheral somatosensory input into three-dimensional models of the body.
  2. How these models adapt when using body-extending technology, such as tools and prosthetic limbs.
  3. The extent to which the brain re-uses its body-based computations to use technology as extended limbs.
