Our main interest is studying (mal)adaptive behavior and poor decision-making, and their links to psychopathic/antisocial tendencies in community and offender samples. To achieve this, we integrate multiple levels of description by combining behavioral methods, electrophysiology, s/fMRI, and various types of latent variable modeling. Some of our current projects and collaborations are focused on:
- how antisocial personality constructs are related to cognitive control, affective processing and social decision-making
- how pain distorts decision-making as a function of psychopathic traits
- the impact of mind-body interventions on social functioning
- how hostility biases are acquired
- ethical and philosophical examinations of the use of neuroscientific methods to tackle clinical challenges in forensic settings
