Domain Research

The Domain Research team of the Information & Library Services division plays an important role in supporting research within Radboud University. In addition to Information Managers, the team consists of functional administrators and an information analyst.

What do we do?

  • Inventory of needs and requirements
  • Advising: we translate questions and needs into concrete digital solutions, such as the secure storage and sharing of research data. We take into account existing systems and processes.
  • Guiding implementations: we can provide support with the implementation of new systems or processes.
  • Supporting pilots and innovative experiments: currently, this includes experiments with tools that have an AI component.
  • Managing information systems: we ensure the maintenance and adaptation of the functionality of applications.
  • Ensuring coherence: we safeguard the coherence between different systems and processes within the research domain and the university’s IT landscape.
  • Connecting stakeholders (IT, privacy & security, functional management, etc.)

How do we work?

We work closely with researchers, research departments, IT specialists, information architects, privacy officers, information managers, and functional administrators. We ensure that digital solutions align with research practice and can be deployed safely.

For each case, we assess the best approach. Sometimes a small adjustment is enough, or only advice is required. But it can also result in a larger project.
