Donders Centre for Cognitive Neuroimaging

Research institute

The Donders Centre for Cognitive Neuroimaging (DCCN) is one of the six research centres of the Donders Institute for Brain, Cognition and Behaviour. Our mission is to advance the understanding of the neural and cognitive mechanisms underlying human behaviour through innovative, collaborative, and multidisciplinary research. By integrating and developing advanced neuroimaging techniques, computational models, interventions, and novel experimental paradigms, we aim to uncover the fundamental principles of brain and cognition across both healthy and clinical populations. With our findings, we want to make impactful contributions to science and also to society, particularly in the domains of healthcare, education, public policy, and technology.

The Reflector - Why we always empty a bag of chips in one sitting. The link between what you eat, think and do | Podcast with neuroscientist Esther Aarts

Professor of nutritional neursocience Esther Aarts wrote the book Why We Always Eat a Bag of Chips in One Go to clarify two things: how our diet affects our thinking capacity and how your thinking capacity also shapes your food choices.

HEART2ADAPT: Autonomic balance for adaptive decision making

This project, made possible by an ERC Advanced grant, aims to explain how our body's stress affects the way we act under pressure.
