Empirical and practical religious studies

Within this department, we study religion from an action theory perspective. We conduct research and offer academic education related to meaning-making around religious texts, beliefs and practices in the current institutions of our society. This involves four action contexts, namely school, care, church and government, each of which is represented in the core chair at the teaching assignment level. We train as teachers, pastors, spiritual caregivers and policy officers, or as researchers within one of these fields.
