Edward de Haan appointed as Scientific Director of the Donders Institute

We are delighted to announce that Edward de Haan has been appointed as Scientific Director of the Donders Institute for Brain, Cognition, and Behaviour as of 1 June 2023. This is an important next step in the process of implementing the new governance within the institute. In this central role, De Haan will be responsible for all network activities of the Donders Institute and report to the newly installed Supervisory Board.

De Haan is currently a professor at the UvA (Faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences) but he is not new to the Institute. He has been a long-standing member of the MPI Fachbeirat, and was previously Chair of the Scientific Advisory Board of the Donders Institute and of the Language in Interaction Gravity programme. He will be embedded at the DCC as Professor in the Transdisciplinary Neuropsychology.

De Haan is looking forward to starting in his new role: ‘It will be a privilege to serve this wonderful institute.  I am eager to start working with the people in it, many of whom I already know.’

We are looking forward to his arrival and would like to wish him a warm welcome!
