About the Donders Institute
The Donders Institute is a world-class research network. We are home to more than 1,000 scientists from all over the world who share the common goal of contributing to the advancement of the brain-, cognitive- and behavioural sciences. The institute enables access to the most advanced research facilities (we are currently building the most advanced magnetic resonance scanner in the world), fosters interdisciplinary collaborations, and we train the new generation of researchers.
Mission
Our mission is to advance the understanding of brain, cognition, and behaviour, from molecules to individuals to communities. We carry out curiosity-driven fundamental and translational research on natural and artificial systems with the ultimate goal of impacting society. We train early career researchers and we foster inclusivity.
Goal
The Institute is home to more than 600 researchers from 35 countries who share the common goal of contributing to the advancement of the brain-, cognitive- and behavioural sciences through investigator-driven research, and improving health, education and technology by applying advances in this field.
Network organisation
The Donders Institute for Brain, Cognition and Behaviour is a network organisation of the Radboud University, consisting of six partnering institutes.
Research reports
Our annual research reports give a short overview of the achievements in research and future plans at the Donders Institute and Radboud University.
External evaluations
An External Evaluation Committee, chaired by Prof. dr. Menno Witter (Norwegian University of Science and Technology, Norway), assessed the performance of the Donders Institute over the period 2013-2018, qualifying our research as excellent. Our next external evaluation is planned for 2025.
