The DYNAMIC 14T project and Neuroscience: Status; Challenges and Perspectives

The Donders Sessions are two-hour morning sessions, starting at 10.00 and followed by lunch at 12.00. The Sessions are in principle scheduled every 3rd Thursday of the month, except for July, August and school holidays.

  • 10:00 - 10:15: Introduction by David Norris (DCCN)       
  • 10:15 - 10:40: Opportunities in high resolution functional and anatomical neuroimaging by Wietske van der Zwaag (Spinoza Centre, Amsterdam)
  • 10:40 - 11:05: From ex vivo human brain imaging to histology by Alard Roebroeck (Maastricht)
  • 11:05 - 11:30: Understanding diseases: The key to cure or even prevent them by Anja van der Kolk (Radboudumc/DCCN)
  • 11:30 - 11.50: What can we achieve with mapping GABA and glutamate? by Ivan Toni (DCCN)
  • 11:50 - 12:00: Discussion

DYNAMIC: Strongest MRI scanner in the world will be built in the Netherlands

A consortium of seven partners, led by the Donders Institute for Brain, Cognition and Behaviour (Radboud University), has received a €19 million Roadmap grant from NWO. It will be used to build the world's first MRI scanner with a magnetic field strength of 14 Tesla in Nijmegen.
