DI-NIN Fund

The DI-NIN fund is a collaborative research initiative aimed at strengthening the relationship between the Donders Institute and the Netherlands Institute for Neuroscience (NIN). This fund (500k€), supported by the Radboud University and the NIN, seeks to foster innovative research endeavors that leverage the collective expertise of both institutes.

Principal investigators of the Donders Institute, Radboud University, and the Netherlands Institute for Neuroscience, KNAW, are eligible to apply for a grant to strengthen the DI-NIN partnership via the form below. Here is what you need to know to apply:

  • The deadline for DI-NIN fund applications is 1 October 2024.
  • Joint proposal with at least one Principle Investigator from the NIN and one from the Donders Institute
  • Principal Investigators of the NIN and Donders Institute may submit only one application for this funding
  • We are looking for proposals of around 100K, but smaller amounts may also be requested (for instance for the writing of a joint research grant). This is a general guideline and exceptions will be considered.
  • The proposals will be ranked by independent, external ad-hoc reviewers, and the final decision will be taken jointly by the NIN and the DI directors.
  • Apart from scientific quality the proposals will be judged on the extent to which the project strengthens the collaboration between the two institutes.
  • Awardees are encouraged to follow up their collaboration with an external grant application.
  • If the application was not successful, researchers will also be encouraged to apply for external funding.
  • The funding will need to be spent before December 2028.

The DI-NIN Fund presents an opportunity for impactful research initiatives at the intersection of neuroscience. We encourage all eligible staff members to consider applying and contributing to the advancement of our shared scientific goals.
