The Radboud University offers several courses for PhD candidates via gROW (choose automatic login). It is highly recommended for PhD candidates to follow one or more of these courses throughout your PhD project. In addition, lots of workshops are being offered regularly by the University Library .
PhD candidates with a Radboudumc affiliation can also follow the PhD courses organized by the Radboudumc and courses from the datastewardship.im [at] radboudumc.nl (RTC Data Stewardship) through the online learning environment. PhD candidates within the faculty of science can also follow three additional courses on didactics, scientific ethics and integrity, and working with academic literature.
Language Courses
Dutch and English language courses for PhD students are provided by 'Radboud in'to Languages' . English or Dutch Language courses up to 2 ECTs could be listed on the Graduate School Certificate.
Radboud in'to languages received funding to cover the costs of Dutch and English courses for RU and Radboudumc employees and as such a 100% discount on Dutch or English courses for non-native speakers is provided. More information can be found at Training provisions for PhD candidates and postdocs.
Peercoaching
PhD candidates participating as peer in the Donders peercoaching programme get a maximum of 14 hours (0.5 ECTS) per year, up to a maximum of 56 hours in total (2 ECTS) for the Graduate School Certificate. Attendance for meetings will be registered and used to credit the hours. Only if PhD candidates attend a minimum of 5 meetings per year they will be able to list peercoaching for the Graduate School Certificate.
PhD candidates who participate as facilitator are allowed to count an extra 14 hours per year, up to a total of 84 hours (3ECTS), if they follow the required training sessions and follow-up meetings with the other facilitators.
All of these courses above could be listed on your Graduate School Certificate.

BKO/UTQ
The regular UTQ track is intended for novice lecturers and educational PhD with a teaching task of > 0,2 FTE and (with the prospect of) a permanent contract or teachers with a temporary contract for 3 years or more. Note that PhD candidates with a 4-year contract cannot follow the regular track.
Are you a PhD candidate with a small teaching load or a lecturer with a contract for < 3 years or small teaching task (< 0,2fte) and do you want to start your UTQ track? In that case you can participate in two courses to obtain a partial certificate for the competency domains Teaching practice and Student supervision. These partial certificates are part of a national pilot for partial certificates in which most of the universities in the Netherlands participate.
