  • Advanced MEG/EEG]
  • Advanced (f)MRI]
  • Non-invasive Brain Stimulation

Courses for Clinical PhD candidates

Clinical PhD candidates can in principle use the courses that they attend in the context of their (medical) specialist training for their Donders Graduate School certificate, after approval from the Graduate School Coordinator. Note that there might be limitations based on the extent and content of the courses, but that is assessed on a case-by-case basis.

Capita selecta courses

A “capita selecta course” set up by PhD candidates themselves can be approved for the 18 ECT part. In this case, the relevant center director together with the GS coordinator will decide on approval, based on substantiation of the structure, content and time investment of this “course”, and where possible an assessment/outcome.

Additional information

Proposals to include other courses (e.g. winter- or summer schools, online courses, courses from other universities) for the Graduate School Certificate can be submitted to the Donders Graduate School coordinator via the form below, including the description of the course contents, goals, didactical approach, type of assessment/evaluation, and specification of course load (in hrs or ECTS). It is strongly recommended to request approval before starting the course.

Please note that in general, the following rules apply in order to include the course for the Graduate School Certificate:

  • Proof of successful completion of the course and thus some form of assessment during the course is required. As such, you cannot receive credits for courses you get access to, but not allowed to take the exam and attend the lectures.
  • An exception to the rule above can be made if a certificate of full attendance is provided, especially for local workshops/courses such as the HPC/Linux, or Presentation workshops.
  • For e-courses a screen shot of “exam passed” (including name of applicant) is sufficient to be listed on the Graduate School Certificate, an expensive official certificate is not required (Please upload this in Hora Finita).
  • For summer- and winterschools, they can only be included if PhD candidates can show that it was not conference-like/passive listening, but a real training/education. In that case proof of attendance is required.
