We accept secondary school diplomas which are equivalent to the Dutch VWO (pre-university education). Is your diploma not listed here? It may still be an equivalent of the Dutch VWO-diploma, but additional requirements regarding subjects taken and grades obtained may apply. The admissions teams assess each application individually and will inform you of the admission decision. The best way to determine whether you are eligible for the programme of your choice is to submit an application. The earlier you do this (applications already open in October), the better, as you will know whether you are admissible while having the needed time to plan ahead.

Please note:

  • This list does not guarantee admission, nor can you derive rights from this list. Grades, subjects followed, and subject levels are also considered.
  • Depending on the Bachelor’s programme of your choice, subject-specific requirements and/or language requirements may apply. Please refer to the webpages of the Bachelor’s programme of your choice for detailed information.
  • Many Bachelor’s programmes require a certain level of mathematics included in your diploma, or an additional mathematics test with a sufficient score is needed. Please refer to the webpages of the Bachelor’s programme of your choice for detailed information.
  • Proof of English language proficiency is required.
  • An admission decision will only be taken after you have submitted a complete online application for admission.

If you have a Dutch educational background, we kindly refer you to our Dutch application procedure.

The information in this list applies only to applications for the 2026-2027 academic year. Radboud University accepts no liability for any errors, omissions, or misinterpretations that might arise from the content of this information.

Not directly eligible?

The best way to determine whether you are eligible for the programme of your choice is to submit an application. Also, with an additional year of higher education, you may be able to work on bridging the gap(s):

  • Complete one year in an academic programme at an accredited higher education institution e.g. in your home country, closely related to your Bachelor’s programme of choice at Radboud University. The entire first-year curriculum needs to be completed with sufficient scores. The exact level and value depend on factors such as the institution from which it will be obtained, the content of the study programme, the nominal study duration, and GPA. This extra year could make the difference in being considered for admission.
  • Complete one year at a Dutch university of applied sciences, closely related to your Bachelor’s programme of choice at Radboud University, and pass all the courses offered. You will then earn a propaedeutic certificate. With this certificate, you can re-apply for entry into our Bachelor’s programs. This option applies to all Bachelor’s programmes, however, additional requirements may apply, such as passing a mathematics test or achieving a certain GPA.
