Application procedure minor for higher professional education students

If you are a higher professional education (hbo) student and you would like to take a minor at Radboud University, have a look at the available minors and then enrol by following the steps below.

Steps

  1. Step 1: Check to see whether there is a cooperation agreement

    Have a look at the list of minors to see whether your Higher Professional Degree programme has a cooperation agreement with a Radboud University study programme. In such a case, agreements will have been made about the programme and the extent to which the minor can be incorporated into your study programme.

    Go to the list of minors

    If there is no cooperation agreement with your Higher Professional Degree programme, proceed to Step 2.

    If there is a cooperation agreement with your Higher Professional Degree programme, you will first need to ask the Examining Board from your Higher Professional Degree programme for a declaration of consent so that you can take the minor. Once you have been given permission, you can proceed to Step 3 so that you can enrol at Radboud University.

  2. Step 2: Use Kies op Maat to choose the right minor

    If there is no cooperation agreement with your higher professional education or you would like to take a minor within another study programme, Radboud University offers minors within several study programmes via Kies op Maat

    Go to Kies op Maat

    1. Choose the minor that you wish to take at Radboud University from the choices offered by Kies op Maat.
    2. Present a printed copy of the learning agreement from Kies op Maat to the Examining Board from your Higher Professional Degree programme and request permission to take the minor. Once you have received permission, your learning agreement will be signed. You will also need to sign the agreement.
    3. You can then scan your signed learning agreement.
  3. Step 3: Apply, fill in the digital questionnaire and upload your documents

    Apply at Radboud University. You do this by creating an account at Osiris Application.

    Go to Osiris Application

    You will then need to complete the digital questionnaire and upload the documents below. If you want to apply for multiple minors, you need to submit a separate application in Osiris for each minor.

    • A scan of your learning agreement from Kies op Maat , if you have chosen your minor via Kies op Maat;
    • A copy of your passport or proof of identity.
    • Your motivation letter, which should be no longer than one A4 page;
    • Your academic progress summary from your Higher Professional Degree programme.
    • If there is an existing cooperation agreement, you will also need to submit the letter of consent from the Examining Board from your Higher Professional Degree programme.

    Submit your digital questionnaire via Osiris Application.

    Deadline

    • The application deadline for minors for the first semester is 1 July.
    • The application deadline for minors for the second semester is 15 December.

    Please note: In case you submit the digital questionnaire after the deadline, we cannot guarantee that it will be processed.

  4. Step 4: Check to see whether you have been admitted

    Radboud University will assess your application file. If you look in Osiris Application, you will be able to see whether you have been admitted to the minor. If you have been admitted, you may continue with the enrolment process (Step 5). If you have not been admitted, you will not be able to enrol in your chosen minor.

    Once you have completed Step 4 in Kies op Maat, your enrolment will be completed via Radboud University. The steps that are listed in Kies op Maat will then no longer be relevant. You will receive further information about your enrolment via Radboud University.

  5. Step 5: Complete your enrolment

    If you are admitted to the minor, you will be enrolled at Radboud University within a few weeks. Please note: if you plan to start your minor in September, you will only be enrolled from June onwards. If we still require certain documents from you, we will send you an email about this.

  6. Step 6: Check to see that you have been enrolled in the approved courses

    Once you have enrolled at Radboud University, check in Osiris Student to see whether you have been enrolled in the approved courses. The enrolment for the course(s) will be completed by the university, which means that you will not have to complete the enrolment yourself.
