Application and enrolment procedure for subsidiary students

If you are a student from another institution of higher education and you would like to enrol at Radboud University as a subsidiary student so that you can take a particular course or set of courses, you can enrol by following the steps below.

Steps

  1. Step 1: Choose a subsidiary course

    Please consult our course guide to see if there are any subsidiary courses that you would like to take. The information for each course specifies whether this course may also be taken as a subsidiary student. Also check to see whether there are any entry requirements.

  2. Step 2: Apply for the course, complete the digital questionnaire and upload your documents

    Apply at the study program where you want to follow the subsidiary course in academic year 2023-2024. You do this by creating an account in Osiris Application. Would you like to follow subsidiary courses at multiple study programs? Then apply for each study program separately. Check the course guide to make sure you apply for the right study program. Applying for subsidiary courses in academic year 2024-2025 is possible from 1 July 2024.

    You will immediately receive a digital questionnaire, which you should complete, and a request to upload documents that pertain to your current study programme at your home university. Please complete the questionnaire and upload your documents as soon as possible. You can submit your questionnaire and your documents via Osiris Application.

    Questionnaire submission deadline:

    • If you are applying for a first semester course, you will need to submit your questionnaire by 1 August.
    • If you are applying for a second semester course, you will need to submit your questionnaire by 1 December.

    Please note: In case you submit the digital survey after the deadline, we cannot guarantee that it will be processed.

  3. Step 3: Check to see whether you have been admitted

    Radboud University will assess both your questionnaire and your documents. You will receive an email within approximately three weeks, which will tell you whether you have been admitted to the desired subsidiary course(s). You will also be able to see this information in Osiris Application. If you have not been admitted, you will unfortunately not be able to enrol in your chosen subsidiary course(s).

  4. Step 4: Send your Proof of Paid Tuition Fees

    If you have been admitted to the subsidiary course(s), we will require a Proof of Paid Tuition Fees from your own university or college for the academic year for which you wish to enrol. This certificate proves that you have already paid the statutory tuition fees. Please consult the website of the university or college where you will pay your tuition fees to see how to arrange payment. You will need to explain to your own university or college that this certificate must be a Proof of Paid Tuition Fees for Radboud University for an enrolment as a subsidiary student.

    Once your Proof of Paid Tuition Fees has been received and processed, you should be enrolled as a subsidiary student at Radboud University within a few weeks.

    Please note: if you plan to start your subsidiary course in September, you will only be enrolled from June onwards.

  5. Step 5: Check to see that you have been enrolled in the approved courses

    Once you have enrolled at Radboud University, check in Osiris Student to see whether you have been enrolled in the approved courses. The enrolment for the course(s) will be completed by the university, which means that you will not have to complete the enrolment yourself.

    Deregistering

    If you wish to deregister from your elective course during the year, you will need to send an email to centralstudentdesk [at] ru.nl (centralstudentdesk[at]ru[dot]nl); this email should include your request to deregister and the following information:

    • Your first name and surname;
    • The name of the study programme in which you are enrolled;
    • The date on which you wish to deregister;
    • Your Radboud University student number.
