Why study Mathematics in Nijmegen?
Mathematics is a three-year bachelor's programme (in Dutch) at Radboud University. In the first year, you receive an introduction to the field. In the following years, you delve deeper into the subject. Starting in the first year already, you can tailor part of your studies with elective courses, including those outside mathematics.
Mathematics: Something for you?
- During the programme, you will learn to quickly grasp new information and to excel at distinguishing main issues from minor details. You'll develop logical reasoning skills and quickly identify errors in thinking, making you a true problem solver and analytical thinker.
- This programme offers extensive elective options, allowing you to delve deeper into mathematics or broaden your perspective with other subjects. More information can be found in the study programme and courses.
- You will be taught by top scientists, such as Klaas Landsman, who received the Spinoza Prize in 2022, the most prestigious Dutch scientific award.
- The campus has a very personal feel: you can turn to your student mentor, tutor, or study advisor with any questions or issues. Furthermore, all students know each other, and the doors of lecturers are always open. This means you're never alone in any struggles you might have.
- Immerse yourself in sustainable issues during your studies and receive a special sustainability testimonial on your Bachelor's degree.
- There is continuous demand for mathematicians and in both businesses and at (semi-) government institutions.
- There is a lot of interaction between students from all year groups within the programme. The heart of this social environment is the study association Desda. Desda organises fun activities such as association weekends, social gatherings, and a Dinner Rouler with lecturers. There are also academic activities like the annual symposium, study trips, and company lectures.
