Study programme Bachelor's Molecular Life Sciences year 2
From the second year on, the emphasis shifts more towards biomedical research. Knowledge of all fields of chemistry is extended and the relevant physical and mathematical background is deepened. In the second semester of the second year, you start your specialisation phase and compose your own programme. You can choose to specialise in medical biology or move in a biochemical direction.

You can choose the Introduction to Philosophy and Ethics course in your desired topic:
- NWI-FFIL101 in P1: aimed at physics topics, in Dutch
- NWI-FFIL101 in P2: aimed at molecular topics, in English
- NWI-FFIL100 in P4: aimed at biological topics, in English
Specialisation phase
The specialisation phase starts in the second semester, in which you choose combinations of courses that lead to your desired Master's specialisation. You can choose to specialise in a medical biological direction or in a biochemical direction. When choosing courses you should keep an eye on the possible masters programme you want to do. Below you can find an overview in relevant courses. At least 18 EC of electives should be filled with these specialisation-oriented electives.
