What will you learn

Natural Sciences is a broad but rigorous natural sciences programme, taught in Dutch, at the intersection of physics, biology and chemistry, complemented by mathematics. You'll learn to identify connections between these disciplines. The first year provides a solid foundation across all disciplines. Later, you'll specialise in physical-chemical, biological-physical, or biological-chemical directions, studying topics like quantum mechanics, nanoscience, biophysics, DNA techniques, biochemical processes, or molecular biological data.

Future career opportunities

Natural Sciences graduates develop a broad scientific perspective and enjoy excellent career prospects across diverse fields. Companies continuously seek young talent, and there is high demand for qualified teachers. Scientific breakthroughs like AIDS inhibitors, solar cells, waste-to-energy gas production, advanced microchips, biodegradable plastics and electronic speech recognition have been developed through broad, interdisciplinary approaches where science graduates play crucial roles. Scientists from different disciplines frequently collaborate on such developments.
