Double Bachelor's in Physics and Astronomy & Mathematics

A special challenge at Radboud University is a double Bachelor's programme. In this programme, you will study Physics and Astronomy & Mathematics in a combined programme. A double Bachelor's is intended as a challenge for motivated students who can complete the programme in 3 years without significant study delay. With an additional effort of 25%, you will obtain two Bachelor's diplomas.

About this study curriculum

The study programme is composed of existing components from the regular Bachelor's programmes. This means the diploma is equivalent to the diplomas of the individual programmes. The diplomas provide access to all Master's programmes in Physics and Astronomy and Mathematics within the Netherlands.

The courses are arranged in such a way that, if a student follows the indicated sequence, there will be no problems with prior knowledge. The reduction in study load in the combined programme is achieved by:

  • Filling minors with courses from each other's curricula.
  • Replacing mathematics courses from the Physics and Astronomy curriculum with equivalent courses from the Mathematics curriculum.
  • Removing overlapping courses.
  • One final Bachelor's thesis which ideally covers a topic at the interface of both disciplines.

The complete curriculum of the double Bachelor's in Physics and Astronomy & Mathematics can be viewed in the course guide.
