In this course, international experts will push you to rethink traditional views on giftedness and talent. You’ll explore models and theories, with a focus on practical topics such as identifying gifted individuals, fostering self-regulated learning, supporting social and emotional development, and designing enrichment programs or special classes. Together with fellow international students, you’ll critically reflect on your own approaches and talent development, tackling challenging questions like: How do we encourage excellence without promoting elitism? and Do we dare to excel ourselves?
The course emphasizes practical strategies, moving beyond identification to focus on creating meaningful support for learners. Mental health issues related to giftedness will also be discussed. By the end, you’ll leave with a concrete plan or product to enhance talent development in your professional or educational setting.
