The Startup Summer School gives you the chance to validate and shape your business idea in a practical and professional way. In this week you will get the help of professional startup coaches, experienced entrepreneurs and seed investors.

    Do you want to know what it takes to be an entrepreneur? 
    Or do you have an innovative business idea, but don’t know how to take it forward?

    Join the Startup Summer School. During this one week program you will work together with other entrepreneurs on improving your business or business concept. We will give you a proven methodology for assessing and shaping your venture as well as plenty of time to discuss your idea with your peers, investors and experienced entrepreneurs. 

    The Startup Summer School addresses all aspects of starting your own (tech)company. We believe in learning by doing. We expect you to bring your own business and get to action.

    In this course you will: 

    1. find whether an entrepreneurial career is suited for you; 
    2. discover your own entrepreneurial skills, talent and ambition; 
    3. create and fine-tune a solid business plan; 
    4. learn about different methods and tools.

    Course Programme

    A sneak preview in the topics that will be covered during the courses: 

    • Becoming an entrepreneur: know what to expect, get in touch with your own strengths and weaknesses, learn what ‘living the dream’ actually looks like; 
    • Building a team that fuel and sustain your startup’s growth: the perfect team composition and team competencies, training, keeping people happy; 
    • Who is your customer: Learn how to track down, define and segment your customer segment and how to explore their needs; 
    • Understanding the problem: Are you problem oriented and trying to solve the problems of customers via your product or service? Or the other way around;
    • Master the lean startup method to effectively scale your business: learn about MVPs, validated learning, piloting and pivoting; 
    • Build a product that your customers love: due diligence, mapping vs. competing products/services, IP protection, technology enhancement or development, prototyping, and industrialization; 
    • Create your own Business model Canvas: turn an idea into a cash cow, build a sustainable business case; 
    • Understand your market: opportunity assessment, USPs, target markets, competitive positioning, customer discovery and validation; 
    • Get your product to the market: find your launching customer, design your go-to-market strategy, choose distribution channels; 
    • Get noticed: free publicity, marketing, social media strategy;
    • Make a Pitch that impresses customers and investors; 
    • Get Funded: learn about seed money, Business Angel networks and crowdfunding. 

    After the Startup Summer School, you will be able to decide whether a career as an entrepreneur is right for you. And if so, you will have gained the right tools, insights and skills to proceed.

    Admission requirements: The following items are due on or before the application deadline. Submissions received after the deadline will be waitlisted, subject to space availability. 

    • Personal mission statement (max 1 page): Clarity about your personal mission, aspirations and propensity for risk will have an enormous influence on the nature of your entrepreneurial vision, as well as your ability to realize it. This statement should set out what you would like to achieve and why you would like to achieve this. Remember, this is your PERSONAL mission statement, and will be uniquely special – there are no right or wrong answers. The clearer, and more honest, you are about it, the better equipped you will be to contemplate the life of an entrepreneur.
    • Description of business idea (max 250 word) or pitchdeck.
