Recent events such as Covid 19, the Russian-Ukrainian war, and climate change-related disasters such as flooding and draught, underline the vital importance of understanding the occurrence, management, and consequences of crises. We focus on crisis management from five quintessential perspectives on crisis that that combine different scientific insights with practical experience. The different days (modules) of this course offer a unique combination of diverse content, science, and practice. This combination is eminent for understanding and dealing with contemporary international and national conflicts and crises. The morning sessions offer analytical perspectives whereas afternoon sessions offer practical applications. Leading scientists in the field of crisis management, political decision making, crisis governance and conflict studies will introduce participants into their respective fields in the mornings. In the afternoons, participants will be offered interactive sessions in which gaining practical experience has a central focus.
