Why study this programme?
Do you want to learn how to apply formal methods and modelling, with a focus on both the analytical and the social aspects of decision making? During this Master's specialisation you gain the skills and academic knowledge required to become a specialist in sound simulation models invaluable for designing and evaluating strategies.
Master's specialisation in Business Analysis and Modelling
- This specialisation combines system dynamics (analysis) with group model building (facilitation). You learn how to apply analysis in a social setting by communicating results, facilitating group sessions, creating a consensus and fostering commitment.
- We emphasise the importance and advantages of corporate social responsibility, meaning that you learn how to include and involve every stakeholder in your corporate decision-making and not just those with a financial interest.
- We look beyond the private sector, at examples of how business analysis can be applied in the public sector. For example, we examine how a public housing association can increase safety in the neighbourhood (and therefore living standards) by collaborating with residents, the police and the municipality.
- We believe in the power of intervention methodologies that take different players' needs into account and thus increase the likelihood of positive results. To do this, you learn a lot of in-depth research methodology, which is challenging but attainable, as you never lose sight of its practical implications.
