Career prospects

The Master’s specialisation in Cities, Culture and Identity provides graduates entry into rapidly growing sectors of the job market, be it government agencies, business or academia. Graduates will be able to apply the scientific insights and practical skills acquired to topics as varied as the development and the marketing of cities, innovative and creative urban enterprises, urban identities and inequalities, and cultural industries. They can apply for jobs in research or in advisory positions with local, regional and international organisations that focus on these themes. They can also pursue a teaching career in the field of human geography. Part of our mission is also to nurture engaged citizens who drive social change through activism and critical thinking.

After your studies

Our alumni are prepared for a (inter)national career in government, semi-government, and business. They can apply for jobs such as:

  • Consultant in the field of multiculturalism and integration
  • Practitioner at the cultural industry
