Anastasia Yuchynska is Master student Creative Industries.

What do you like about the programme and why?

I really enjoyed the multidisciplinarity of the programme and the overview it builds of the field of creative industries as a whole. Instead of concentrating on one aspect, you receive knowledge and skills in various areas such as fashion, music, heritage, etc., which also opens more career opportunities for you later on. 

What do you think about the atmosphere in class?

The atmosphere during the classes is very friendly and rather informal. It is easy to ask for help from fellow students and lecturers who are easy to approach and always ready to answer your questions. This does not stop outside of classes. I find it wholesome and important that teachers are actually interested in your life outside of studies and your career development and are always open for a chat if you meet them on campus. 

Why do you think it is important that there are people with this degree?

The field of creative industries is broad and rapidly growing. Moreover, it is bringing together creativity, culture, technology, media, and business. Professionals in this field are needed not only for the entertainment industry, which is obviously a huge part of it, but also to bridge the gap between creative talent and societal challenges, helping cultural and creative organisations adapt to technological change, reach diverse audiences, and contribute to economic and social development. As for now, I see myself working in the political cultural sector. I am particularly interested in working on and developing cultural initiatives and policies that promote inclusion and cultural diversity.
