Study programme

The main objective of the programme is to educate a new generation of security experts capable of understanding and following the latest approaches at the intersection of cyber security and AI. You will take courses following various aspects of cybersecurity (e.g., applied cryptography, physical attacks on secure systems), AI courses to extend the knowledge on relevant domains (e.g., deep learning, natural computing), and courses considering cybersecurity and AI (e.g., security and privacy of machine learning). The programme also gives opportunity to consider not only technical but also sociotechnical aspects of cybersecurity and AI. Finally, the programme gives you the chance to learn about AI in security but also security of AI, which is a relatively new, but very active domain.

  • Curriculum of Cyber Security and AI

    The Master’s specialisation in Cyber Security and AI has a course load of 120 EC or two years. The first year of the specialisation contains compulsory courses. You can compose the rest of the programme with specialisation electives and free electives in the field of Cyber Security or AI.

  • Erasmus Mundus joint Master's in AI (EMAI)

    The EMAI programme is a joint Master's in collaboration with Cyber Security and AI in Nijmegen, and three other European universities. The 2-year programme provides a comprehensive framework of theory and practice in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI). Study in Barcelona, Rome, Nijmegen and Slovenia and gain the foundational knowledge needed to explore both key contextual areas and complex technical applications of AI systems.

During your Master's programme, you will have the opportunity to go abroad for your studies, internship and/or thesis.
