Study programme

This specialisation is focused on research. You learn how to turn real-world data sets into tools and useful insights, with the help of software and algorithms. First, you study scientific literature in the Research Seminar. During your Research Internship, you participate in a research project in a company or a scientific group. In the Master's thesis, you carry out your own research project, under the close supervision of our expert staff. You can for example take part in the research of iCIS on topics like Machine learning, Information retrieval, Recommender systems or Privacy and law.

  • Curriculum of Data Science

    The Master’s specialisation in Data Science has a course load of 120 EC (two years). Apart from a few compulsory courses, you can compose most of the programme with electives.

  • Double Master's programme in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science

    The double Master’s programme is a way to acquire a Data Science degree and an Artificial Intelligence (AI) degree in less time than it would take to acquire the two programmes separately. It gives a very broad understanding of the state-of-the-art principles and techniques to use and develop machine learning and classification techniques and apply them to artificial cognitive systems.

Study abroad

During your Master's programme, you will have the opportunity to go abroad for your studies, internship and/or thesis. You will learn to look at things from the perspective of a different culture and you will meet new people; it is an experience that will enrich your life.
