Master's specialisation in Global Environment and Sustainability

  • This specialisation strongly focuses on the global level of sustainability transformations and the international agreements and policies intended to make big strides towards a sustainable future. You will gain a broad view of the problems and possible solutions in global environmental governance.
  • All lectures, seminars and literature deal with internationally comparative studies on environment, sustainability and social and political change. Among the pressing issues addressed are those related to climate change, biodiversity, water quality, the quality of ecosystems and supply of natural resources.
  • Unlike other Master’s programmes, this programme particularly focuses on the political transformations needed for societal change, covering environmental issues from both the Global North and the Global South.
  • Courses from other Master’s programmes, for example in Human Geography, can be used as building blocks in your specialisation to gain a multidisciplinary perspective.
