Nadine Berenst is a second-year Master's student Human Biology at Radboud University.

What do you like about the specialisation and why?

I think the programme offers a great opportunity to gain real life experience as it requires two internships of (at least) 36 study points each. My first internship was different than I expected, but that was very educative as well.

What do you think about the atmosphere in class?

Due to COVID-19, I haven't had a lot of classes in real life in the study year 2020-2021. However in the first few months, I did have classes on campus and I was positively surprised by the contact between teachers and students.

What do you find most challenging in your Master’s specialisation?

There are a lot of possibilities, which is a good thing. However, you need to arrange everything yourself, which can be stressful especially in the beginning when you are new to the Master's or the university.

Are you currently doing an internship?

Yes, I managed to go abroad to do my final internship there, investigating aminoacyl tRNA synthetases.

What are your plans once have received your Master's degree?

I'll hopefully proceed for a PhD degree.
