'The thing that I like most about the master's specialisation marketing, is the fact that there is a lot of freedom within the curriculum that is offered by the Radboud University. Within the subjects that are offered, there is a lot of freedom to explore your personal interests within the field of marketing. Besides that, I like the emphasis that is put on the psychological side of marketing, for example within the course of consumer behaviour. Lastly, I also like the emphasis that the Radboud University puts on the ethical and responsible aspect of organisations, which is something that is becoming increasingly important in society as well.
The atmosphere between students and teachers is very welcoming. At the start of our master's, we were welcomed with a fully organised introduction week, which helped us in getting to know the teachers, and get an introduction in what to expect during this master. The teachers are very welcoming and I feel comfortable to discuss my questions or problems with them.
The most challenging aspect of the master's is that a lot is expected from you. The curriculum covers a broad aspect of marketing, which is very fun, but also requires quite some discipline and planning from you as a student. Therefore, I would say that this master's is very enjoyable, but also requires a lot of work.
With my thesis, I would like to research what the role of study advisors is on the psychological well being of students at higher educational institutions. This subject may not be most related to marketing, but that is something that I very enjoy about this master's. You get a lot of freedom to research topics that you are interested in as a student.
I think it is important that there are people who have a broad understanding of marketing, who also keep in mind the ethical aspect of working for a company.
I am uncertain what my plans are after obtaining my master's degree. However, I do like the fact that I will have a master's degree in a very broad field, which will allow me to pursue many careers.'

What do you like about the programme/specialisation and why? How has the programme/specialisation challenged you (in relation to your previous education)? Did you experience things that were especially difficult?
The Master's specialisation in Marketing has provided many opportunities to apply knowledge learned in lectures to real marketing challenges faced by businesses.
What do you think about the atmosphere in class (for example the relationship between students and with the teachers/researchers)?
Throughout the course, the professors were always very approachable. The set up of smaller tutorial sessions also allows us to ask questions that arise as well as discuss the material with fellow students.
What do you find most challenging in your Master’s (specialisation)? Have you encountered any obstacles?
The short time span of the Master's programme makes this an intense 1-year of study. The Master's studies become your priority in order to be able to keep up with the courses and be prepared for the Master's thesis.
Are you currently doing an internship? Or what is your thesis about?
My thesis explores the difference between consumer adoption and resistance to innovation. This is a very interesting topic to study in the context of plant-based alternatives and how consumers react to innovations within meat substitutes.
Why do you think is it important that that there are people out there with this degree? What are your plans once have received your Master's degree?
Once I finish my Master's programme, I hope to work with companies on their branding and help create suitable marketing campaigns.
Group work and interactive sessions foster positive relationships among the students and with the teachers, providing opportunities for meaningful exchanges and collaboration.

What do you like about the programme/specialisation and why? How has the programme/specialisation challenged you (in relation to your previous education)?
I have found the Master's programme in Marketing to be quite different from my Bachelor's degree in International Business Administration at the Radboud University. The Marketing programme is much more interactive and engaging, with a strong focus on practical case studies and projects. We have the opportunity to work on real company cases and assume the role of marketing specialists, which gives us valuable insights into the challenges and opportunities that businesses face. This hands-on experience will prepare us for the professional world and enhance our skills as marketing professionals.
What do you think about the atmosphere in class (for example the relationship between students and with the teachers/researchers)?
The student-teacher dynamic in the programme is strong. With a small cohort of around 70 students, the teachers are able to get to know their students well and are always available for questions and discussions. Group work and interactive sessions also foster positive relationships among the students and with the teachers, providing opportunities for meaningful exchanges and collaboration.
What do you find most challenging in your Master’s (specialisation)? Have you encountered any obstacles?
One of the most challenging aspects of the programme is keeping up with the reading articles. With over 15 articles assigned for each course, it can be difficult to find the time to read them all and fully absorb the material.
Are you currently doing an internship? Or what is your thesis about?
I will soon embark on writing my thesis, which will focus on the relationship between AI services and the customer experience. I have always been fascinated by the topic of customer experience, as it is essential for businesses to understand how their customers perceive their services. By being aware of any weaknesses or opportunities for improvement, businesses can work towards improving the customer experience and driving growth.
Why do you think is it important that there are people out there with this degree? What are your plans once have received your Master's degree?
One of my goals is to continue growing my business while also gaining experience at an international company. I believe that working for a company can provide valuable insights and practical skills, and I am confident that my Master's degree in Marketing from the Radboud University has prepared me to tackle challenges and offer effective solutions. The class discussions and my thesis on the customer experience will give me a thorough understanding of this field, and I hope to continue learning and growing as a marketing professional.
I definitely learned a lot about marketing and different research methods applied in marketing research, considering I did a Political Science Bachelor's before.

What do you like about the programme/specialisation and why? How has the programme/specialisation challenged you (in relation to your previous education)?
I do enjoy the variety of courses. I think all different aspects of marketing are covered by them. Especially nice is that we have elective courses and we have an opportunity to take a course from a different programme. I definitely learned a lot about marketing and different research methods applied in marketing research, considering I did a Political Science Bachelor's before.
What do you think about the atmosphere in class (for example the relationship between students and with the teachers/researchers)?
The teachers are always open for a dialogue. The atmosphere in the class does feel quite informal, there is always room for discussion and expressing your opinion on the topic. Most of the time classes are very interactive, and that really helped me in understanding the topic and not losing interest in it during the class.
What do you find most challenging in your Master’s (specialisation)? Have you encountered any obstacles?
I think the amount of group work we have is the most challenging part of the Master's. There might be up to 6 people in the group, which makes it difficult to set up meetings and makes the communication not as flexible as in a smaller group. This in the end is reflected in the quality of our work, and just adds stress to your life.
Are you currently doing an internship? Or what is your thesis about?
I am doing my thesis on my own, not with a company. It is about ideation contests and company's co-creation with the customers.
Why do you think is it important that there are people out there with this degree? What are your plans once have received your Master's degree?
The Master's gives you a nice overview of the strategic marketing processes in a company. It doesn't teach you specific tools to use, but you definitely will be able to understand the big idea behind the specific actions you might need to perform as a junior employee. My own plans are to look for a job preferably in branding management (I think I was inspired by the International Brand Management course).
