After your studies

In nearly all branches analytical skills are in high demand and mathematicians are desired employees in industrial, banking, technology and service industry as well as within management, consultancy, research and education. A Master’s in Mathematics will show prospective employers that you have perseverance, patience, and an eye for detail, as well as a high level of analytical and problem-solving skills.

The skills you learn during your Master’s will help you find jobs, even in areas where your specialised mathematical knowledge may not initially seem directly relevant. This makes your job opportunities very varied indeed, which is why many graduates with a Master’s in Mathematics find work very quickly.

Teacher Training

If you'd like to become a teacher in mathematics, the educational Master's Educatie in de Bètawetenschappen (Dutch only) would be a good fit for you. Or you can decide to do a a post-Master's after your two-year Mathematics Master's at the Radboud Teachers Academy to become a GCSE-level secondary school teacher 'Wiskunde' in the Netherlands. This practice-oriented programme takes one year to complete. You receive your first-grade educational qualification and can begin teaching maths in secondary and adult education.

Doing a PhD at Radboud University

If you would like to have a career in science, it is possible to apply for a PhD position at Radboud University. Of course, you can also apply at any other university worldwide. Many of our students have already successfully secured a PhD position.

Career Service Science assists students and young alumni with their journey into the job market. You can contact them for help with job orientation, application tips, and information about internships and vacancies. Furthermore, students organise the BBB Career Event each year, the ideal place for students and employers to meet.
