Pure Mathematics

Pure Mathematics is primarily concerned with questions that originate from inside mathematics and is often viewed as the field of most abstract mathematical thinking. We offer courses with a strong connection to modern research developments. This track covers a very broad range of core areas including algebra, analysis, geometry, topology, number theory and logic.

About this study curriculum

The Master's study programme Mathematics has a course load of 120 EC or two years. The structure of your programme is as follows:

Students choose a minimum of 40 EC from the required track courses of Pure Mathematics from the list below.

In addition to your required track courses, you choose additional Mathematics Master's courses to reach a minimum of 54 EC. The programme is then completed with elective Master's courses (within or outside of Mathematics) up to 72 EC. This gives you the flexibility to tailor your programme to your own interests and ambitions.
