Why study Medicinal Chemistry in Nijmegen?

Medicinal chemists are indispensable in the preclinical stages of drug development. In this specialisation, you will study all stages of drug development (discovery, design, development, targeted delivery), including the phases of drug activity relating to a drug’s formulation, the analysis of its toxicity, and the understanding of its pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics.

Why study Medicinal Chemistry?

  • Medicinal Chemistry is a unique multidisciplinary master's specialisation where you study the details of drug research and development.
  • At Radboud University, all (bio)chemistry and chemical biology research groups work closely together, allowing you to tackle a wide range of exciting problems during your internship.
  • Learn key aspects and receive practical training needed to design and develop molecules as preclinical drug candidates, diagnostic and imaging tools or for target identification and validation.
  • We have close contact with top research groups elsewhere in the world, which makes it possible to do your internship for example in Berlin, at Cambridge, or at Harvard.
