In the Molecular Sciences Master's programme, you will learn about all aspects of the functioning and synthesis of molecules. Choose a specialisation at the intersection of chemistry, molecular life sciences, and biology. Deepen your knowledge in areas such as solid-state chemistry, spectroscopy, organic or physical chemistry, or molecular biology. Combine theoretical courses with extensive research internships in a multidisciplinary and international learning environment and get your MSc degree in Molecular Sciences.
Specialisations
Why study the Master's Molecular Sciences in Nijmegen?
- An excellent Master's programme after your Bachelor’s in Chemistry, Molecular Life Sciences, or Science.
- You can choose the direction you like by choosing from diverse chemical Master’s specialisations, ranging from biochemistry and medicinal chemistry to physical chemistry.
- Do an internship at leading research groups in the field of organic chemistry and biomolecular chemistry at the Institute for Molecules and Materials (IMM), the Radboud Institute for Molecular Life Sciences (RIMLS), and the Radboud University Medical Center (Radboudumc).
- In the Master’s Physical Chemistry, you will approach materials science from a molecular perspective, creating new materials or developing ultra-advanced measurement tools.
- If you are looking for a pure Chemistry Master’s, go for the Molecular Chemistry specialisation, where you will engage in the design, synthesis, and characterisation of molecular structures.
Thinking of getting a teaching qualification?
The (Dutch-only) Master's programme in Science Education (Educatie in de Bètawetenschappen) combines chemistry subjects, didactics and internships, which trains you to become a teacher for secondary or higher education.
Pre-Master's
Students who'd like to study MSc Molecular Sciences but who lack a (small) part of the admissions criteria might be eligible for a (customised) pre-Master’s in English. This pre-Master's programme is specifically designed to bridge the gap between your prior education and our Master's programme. The content of the programme consists of specific courses from our Bachelor's programme in Chemistry or Molecular Life Sciences and depends on the specialisation that you would like to pursue.
