What will you learn

Local and regional economies are changing in the face of pressing societal challenges. In collaboration with the business school and environmental studies, this specialisation studies economic development and prospects at the local and regional level through the lens of business models, value chains, stakeholder involvement and governance. You will explore how local economies can meet challenges of sustainability, rising inequality, disruptive technologies, and the twin trends of spatial clustering and globalisation. You will debate the future of capitalism, the prospects for innovation, and the building of a ‘circular economy’, amongst others.
