Religious Studies

In the Master's Religious Studies (60EC) you explore you will explore current issues relating to religion and society, compare different religions, and discuss the changing role of religion with lecturers and fellow students. You will choose one of the specialisations and learn to study the core themes of human life at an academic level, either full-time or part-time.

Specialisations

  • Spiritual Care

    How important is faith in people’s lives? As a spiritual counsellor, you will discuss life and death, love and suffering, and passion and meaning. You will offer assistance to both believers and those who seek answers to existential questions.

  • Islam, Politics and Society

    By following this Dutch master's specialisation you'll become an expert in the field of Islam and today's social-political events and debates concerning Muslims.

  • Theology 1 year

  • Religion, Politics and Society

    Religion, Politics and Society (RPS) is a unique programme in the Netherlands where you take courses at the intersection of lived religion, politics and culture. You will be trained as a specialist who can critically analyse the interaction between religion, power and society and apply this knowledge in academic and social contexts.
