'The Master's programme Strategic Management connects well with my interests in strategy & policy. It challenges me to think about creating value in a responsible way, in collaboration with stakeholders. What I like most about the programme is the focus on strategic change, and the way change can be implemented in complex environments.
I love how approachable teachers were during classes, but also outside classes. There is a lot of interaction and discussion between students, but also between students and teachers. This results in an atmosphere where all people challenge each other to get the most out of their education.
When you put the right amount of time into studying and preparing for classes, the programme is pretty doable. Some courses suited me more than others, but in general I was able to keep up quite well. The amount of articles that you have to read can sometimes seem a little overwhelming, but at least they're quite interesting
I am currently writing my thesis about the desired organisational identity of the Radboud University. The identity tells us something about where an organisation comes from, and what it wants to achieve in the future. Especially with the rich history of this university and its complex environment with a lot of important stakeholders, this topic suits me really well.
At the end of your degree, you are specialised in how organisations can survive in complex environments and how you can create a competitive advantage in a responsible way. This makes that Strategic Management students can end up in almost all sectors and organisations, either governmental or non-governmental. There is a lot of demand for young and passionate graduates within the job market, who want to make this world a better place. That is why I am now orienting myself in multiple sectors to see which starter positions give me energy, and where I can use my talents in the right way.'
This master's teaches you how to adapt to changes within and outside a company.

'The master's Strategic Management gives insights in different perspectives of stakeholders and provides me with knowledge about different kinds of organisations. The courses are very different, including for example more internationally or internally focused knowledge. The teaching methods are also different, with a lot of group work, essays, podcasts and so on. It is nice that you can also choose two electives, in which you are able to shape your own learning path.
The atmosphere in class is good amongst students. However, it was sometimes difficult to get to know your fellow students, because of COVID-19 and the online classes. But since we have a lot of group work and seminars in which we have to present to other students, you get to know each other better. On the other hand teachers are always ready to help and support you with for example essays or group work. In most courses, guest lectures are provided, which makes the master's more interesting.
The most challenging in my master's is the thesis. It is completely new for me as I did not do my bachelor at a University. Therefore, literature research is quite an obstacle for me, but on the other hand, I am learning a lot from it.
I am currently writing my master's thesis about Craftmanship. I want to find out with my research, why craft breweries want to grow, or want to stay small. By collecting interviews with different craft brewers, I want to gain more insights in how they balance growth and craftmanship.
I think it is important that there are people out there with the master's degree in Strategic Management, because every company has to deal with strategic decisions and looking ahead. Not only big companies face challenges, internal or external, but also small companies have to keep up with changes in the environment. This master's teaches you how to adapt to changes within and outside a company.
My plans after receiving my master's degree, is working for a small company in which I can make an impact and difference when it comes to strategic decision making.'
I do really like what I am studying right now since it is more practical than what I studied in Italy.

'I do really like what I am studying right now since it is more practical than what I studied in Italy. I found very challenging the different teaching and learning method. I do not think that one is better than the other, they are just different.
I had a very good relationship with the teachers, but not so with the other students. I had no problems with the other international students, but with Dutch students it was difficult to establish a good relationship.
The most challenging part is that you can take the exams only twice per year and with many months of distance between the exam and re-sit. I would prefer to have more re-sit opportunities, and with a shorter time distance between them.
I will start my internship in June, and then I will do another year of studying.
I believe it is important that there are people with a degree in Strategic management because it helps to educate managers to be more conscious. That way they know that it is important to create added value to society when conducting any type of business. I would like to come back to Italy, and to work for an NGO.'
