The centrepiece of this 3-year, English-taught programme consists of a series of in-depth topical seminars, which are informed by state of the art research and which all echo the identity of Theology in Nijmegen. In addition to a mandatory first-year seminar, these Core Theology Seminars are complemented by a combination of Theological-Vocational electives and free elective space. The programme is rounded out by a thesis in the third year.
Students have a lot of flexibility when it comes to planning and choosing their exact programme. You can, in essence, “build-your-own” theology degree within broadly framed structures that highlight the core aspects of our programme. Students also have the option of supplementing this open programme by fulfilling a selection of vocational tracks in: professional academic research, spiritual care (Dutch), education (Dutch), or even double-degree programme through a partner institution.
