  • Courses

    The Master’s specialisation in Urban and Cultural Geography is taught the Nijmegen School of Management. It has a course load of 60 EC* (one-year) and offers space for elective courses, with which students can give their programme their own personal finishing touch.

    * European Credit Transfer System (ECTS): The workload of an academic year is equivalent to 60 European credits (EC), where 1 EC point is 28 hours of study.

  • Dual degree

    Are you an aspiring geographer and want to increase your knowledge in human geography and coastal and water management? Do you want to benefit from a substantial global experience? In that case, the Dual Degree Programme with the Universitas Gadjah Mada in Indonesia might be something for you! Upon completion of the programme you will receive a Master degree in Coastal Area and Watershed Management (MPPDAS) from the Universitas Gadjah Mada and a MSc in Human Geography from Radboud University.

    This programme consists of a total of 112 EC credits.

    Why this programme?

    You will benefit from a global experience within the field of geography and coastal and water management. You are also able to choose between six specialisations and electives at Radboud University. These specialisations are highly multidisciplinary and include subjects related to cultural studies, psychology, anthropology, economics, spatial planning and environmental policy studies.

    MPPDAS produces highly qualified graduates with sound knowledge of coastal and watershed management who are able to address environmental problems using geographical approaches, remote sensing and geographic information systems.

    You will make yourself a more desirable hire. Potential employers are national and international organisations. Additionally employers are drawn to candidates who show a desire to learn more and have international experience.

Internship

Internships are not a standard part of the curriculum, but we heartily support any student who wishes to do the extra work and do an internship. In as far we can, we will assist in finding a suitable position in the Netherlands or abroad.

Study abroad

The Master’s programme is planned to last one year – three blocks with courses, one block writing the thesis. Studying abroad is not an integrated option. However, if you plan to do so, get in contact with the International Office about opportunities. Such a study abroad is possible but will delay your study progress.
