Minors Faculty of Arts
In your third year (B3) you will have to take a minor worth 40 EC. This minor is a package of related courses that helps you expand or deepen your knowledge. Minors from the Faculty of Arts deal with current societal themes. Choosing one of these themes will help you focus your programme, making it easier to set yourself apart on the labour market. Registration deadlines
- Study Abroad minor (outside Europe): 14 January
- Study Abroad minor (within Europa): 28 February
- Educational minor: 21 May
- Thematic minor: during regular registration period in July
- Elective minor: between 1 and 15 July
Practical information
Registration for students Faculty of Arts
- In order to participate in a minor and its courses and to ensure that all courses are placed in the right place in your study progress overview (SVO), you must register via OSIRIS in advance. This goes for both the minor itself and the individual courses within that minor.
- In July you register for the minor (via Specialisation) and the (inter)disciplinary package (via Minor). For more information please check the manual. Please note: you cannot register for the elective minor via Osiris, this will be done automatically once the set of courses (30 EC) you selected has been approved. More information about the elective minor.
- You sign up for the courses that take place in the first semester in the registration period in July. You register for courses in the second semester during the registration period in December.
Registration for students outside Faculty of Arts
Are you a student at Radboud University but not within the Faculty of Arts? Then the information on this and underlying pages does not apply to you. If you want to fill the elective of your minor with courses at the Faculty of Arts, for example language courses in French, German and Spanish, please check the course offer and filter by minor.

Additional information applies in two cases.
Individual (research) internship
Every student participates in a think tank, but you can also opt for an individual think tank: an internship at a company or organisation or a research internship. Please be aware of the time schedule: For an internship during the first semester you need to submit your request by 15 July. For an internship in the second semester you need to submit the request by 15 December.
Two Bachelor's programmes
- The following applies to students enrolled in two Bachelor’s programme’s at the Faculty of Arts who started their first programme in or after September 2018: You are exempted from taking a minor (40 EC) for one of your programmes. You only have to follow the fixed components of the minor in your other programme. More information can also be found in the Education and Exam Regulations (EER) of your program.
- Are you enrolled in a Bachelor's programme at the Faculty of Arts and at another faculty, you can be exempted from the elective space within the minor. You would only have to follow the fixed components of the minor. Please send a request to the Examination Board if you want to be exempted.
Students started before 2018
If you started the first year of your Bachelor's programme before September 2018, you will take two minors (worth a total of 30 EC).
