Study programme of the pre-Master's in Economics

  After completing a Dutch university's Bachelor's programme, it is possible to obtain a Master’s in Economics at Radboud University. Before you can be admitted to the one-year Master’s programme, you have to complete a one-year pre-Master’s programme. Building upon the Bachelor's programme that you completed, you will acquire the knowledge and skills that are necessary to participate in the Master’s programme. The Master’s programme is taught in English and has seven specialisations, each with its own pre-Master’s programme.

  Are you currently a Bachelor's student Bedrijfskunde or International Business Administration at Radboud University? Or did you complete a Bachelor's Bedrijfskunde or Business Administration at Radboud University?

  Note that in this case, you’re only required to follow the courses of the pre-Master's programme, that you have not followed yet during your Bachelor's Bedrijfskunde or (International) Business Administration (in accordance with the EER, articles 32.3 and 32.4).   These specific requirements only apply to students Bedrijfskunde or International Business Administration at Radboud University. With the completed Bachelor's and a completed pre-Master's programme, you can be admitted to the accompanying Master’s programme in Economics. The pre-Master's courses can (partly) be completed during your Bachelor's programme.   Deficiency courses before enrollment

  Note that depending on your previous education, you may have to follow some deficiency courses before being admitted to either of the specific pre-Master's programmes. In order to be able to enroll in one of our pre-Master’s programmes you must have had at least introductory courses in mathematics & statistics, research methodology, and (business) economics.   If your prior education is marked insufficient for direct admission to the Master's programme in Economics, for example you are lacking some courses for the specialisation you prefer, you may be offered to enrol in one of our pre-Master's programmes in English. These are programmes that have been especially designed to bridge the gap between your prior education and the Economics Master's programme specialisation. This pre-Master programme typically means a year of extra study, and after successfully completing it you will be directly admitted to the Master's programme in Economics.

  In general, the pre-Master’s programme consists of core courses from our Bachelor’s programme, as well as courses in academic skills and methodology. Each Master’s specialisation has a specific pre-Master’s programme. Successful completion of this specific pre-Master’s will allow you to enrol in the associated Master’s specialisation. There are general courses that will be offered to all the programmes.

  After completing an HBO programme, it is possible to obtain a Master’s in Economics at Radboud University. Before you can be admitted to the one-year Master’s programme, you have to complete a one-year pre-Master’s programme. Building upon the HBO programme that you completed, you will acquire the knowledge and skills that are necessary to participate in the Master’s programme. The Master’s programme is taught in English and has seven specialisations, each with its own pre-Master's programme. For HBO Bachelor’s students with the relevant prior education, there is a suitable, 60 EC pre-Master’s programme available for each Master’s specialisation. Most of the courses are taught in English.

  It is not possible for HBO students to be admitted directly to a Master’s programme. First, they must participate in a pre-Master’s programme that will provide them with the basic scientific knowledge and academic skills at the level of a university Bachelor’s programme. Successful, motivated HBO students can take a maximum of five courses in advance from the pre-Master's programme. This will reduce the costs of the pre-Master’s programme to be taken later.
