Radboud University believes it is important that an international exchange is accessible to every student. This is why we offer the Erasmus+ Inclusion top-up. This is a financial support for students who need it for their study or internship exchange due to special circumstances. There is also the Erasmus+ Green Travel top-up.

Please note: The deadline for the top-up is the same as the deadline for the regular Erasmus+ grant application. You apply for both the regular grant and the top-up at the same time, via Osiris.
Conditions
Erasmus+ Inclusion top-up
The following students are eligible for an inclusion top-up:
- students with a physical or mental disability that hinders your study or international mobility. The student dean must verify this.
- students who receive a supplementary grant from DUO (or equivalent from another country) or have received one in recent years, because they come from a family with a lower income. The right to the supplementary grant may have expired no more than 2 years ago.
Once you apply for the top-up, you must declare that you meet the requirements to top-up. The assessment process that follows takes place in a careful and confidential manner.
Erasmus+ Green Travel top-up
We would like to reward students who travel to their destination using a sustainable form of transport (with low CO2 emissions). The travel allowance you receive if you travel in a sustainable manner is higher than the standard travel allowance. Sustainable forms of transport are: bicycle, bus, train or carpooling*. To be eligible for the top-up, you must have travelled at least 50% of your outward and return journey to and from the destination country in a sustainable manner.
*Please note: You are only eligible for the Erasmus+ Green Travel top-up when carpooling if you travel together with fellow students who are also going on exchange to the same city. In that case, we ask you to provide the student numbers of these students. Are you carpooling through a paid platform, such as BlaBlaCar? This is also allowed. In that case, please upload your ticket as proof.
To receive this top-up, you need to take the following steps:
- Save (if applicable) all tickets of your transport and submit them (digitally) to us;
- Complete and sign the Declaration Green Travel top-up form. On the form, describe how and when you travelled. You can find this form in Osiris.
Amount of scholarship
The Erasmus+ top-ups are additional scholarships on top of the normal Erasmus+ scholarship. The Inclusion top-up is €250 per month, or €8.33 per day. The exact Green Travel top-up amount depends on the distance to your destination. For the detailed amounts of the grants please check the document at the bottom of this page.
