Faculty Scholarships for the Research Master's in Philosophy

The Faculty offers two scholarships for excellent students from abroad, wishing to start the Research Master’s programme in Philosophy. Each scholarship amounts to €10.500 for the first year of the Research Master’s programme, and in case of good study results can be renewed for the second, final year.

Amount of scholarship
For students from countries belonging to the European Economic Area (EEA), the amount of € 10.500 covers tuition fees (€ 2.314,- for the 2023-2024 academic year), plus living expenses.

For students from outside the EEA, tuition is higher and therefore the scholarship of €10.500 covers only part of the tuition fee (€ 16.000,- for the 2023-2024 academic year).

How to apply

Information about the application procedure for the Research Master in Philosophy can be found on the admission and application page of the specialisation of your choice. International students who complete their application in the online system Osiris before the relevant deadline, can indicate there that they want to apply for the Faculty Scholarship. They must then upload a motivation letter for the scholarship, which must be a different letter than the motivation letter uploaded as part of their application for the master's programme. It should explain why they need this scholarship in order to be able to attend Radboud University, and it must be in the format specified in the application system.


Please note that the application deadlines for the scholarship may differ from the application deadlines for the programme itself.
Students wishing to start on 1 September 2024 must have completed their application in the online application system Osiris before 1 May 2024.
Students wishing to start on 1 February 2024 must have completed their application in the online application system Osiris before 1 November 2023.

Please note that incomplete applications will not be considered for the Faculty Scholarship selection. An incomplete application means that some information and/or documents are missing or illegible. Therefore, please be advised and submit your application in the online OSIRIS Application well in advance so that the Admissions Office has enough time to review your application and inform you in case that it is incomplete.
