Why study at Radboud University?
At our university, you’ll develop a broad perspective on the world. You’ll learn to look beyond your own field of study and see the connections between social issues. You won’t be doing this alone. You’ll work together with students both within and outside your study programme, and there’s lots of room to pursue your own interests!
Develop a broad perspective
Today’s major challenges cannot be solved by focusing on a single discipline. That is why, with us, you will learn to look beyond your own field of study. You will have the opportunity to take courses outside your own study programme and collaborate with students from other disciplines. This will allow you to learn from different perspectives and gain a better understanding of how everything is interconnected.
Learning from multiple perspectives
Good solutions emerge when you look at an issue from different angles. That is why our study programmes combine knowledge from multiple perspectives. This helps you avoid tunnel vision and teaches you to approach an issue in a variety of ways.
Freedom of choice within and outside your study programme
Our study programmes give you the freedom to take subsidiary courses and minors from other programmes that match your interests. This allows you to explore new subjects and broaden your horizons.
Top-quality study programmes
We offer top-level study programmes and have been ranked the second-best broad university in the Netherlands for five years running. Several of our Bachelor's programmes are among the best in their field, and students rate many of our Master's programmes as above average.
Sustainability in every programme
Sustainability is part of all our study programmes. It covers environmental, as well as social and economic issues. In addition, you can choose from a range of modules where you’ll attend lectures with students from other faculties. During your Bachelor’s, you can have this recognised on your degree certificate.
Discover who you want to become
Studying is about more than attending lectures. At our university, you’ll learn to think critically and form your own opinions. You’ll discover not only what you can achieve, but also why it matters. Through interacting with others and taking part in activities alongside your studies, you’ll discover new perspectives and get to know yourself better. In this way, you’ll gradually shape who you are and what you want to contribute.
Courses, training sessions and workshops
We provide you with all the tools you need to develop yourself professionally. Would you like to learn how to study more effectively, plan better or improve your writing skills? Then take one of our many free courses, trainings and workshops for students.
International community
On campus, you'll meet students from more than 100 nationalities. It's an easy way to get to know different cultures and perspectives, without even packing your suitcase. Want to broaden your horizons even more? Many programmes offer the opportunity to study abroad for a semester or a year. This way, you'll discover more about the world and about yourself.
We’re here for you
Being away from home can be hard sometimes. But you’re not on your own during your studies. Student advisors, student psychologists and study trainers are on hand to help if you have any questions about your academic progress, or if you’re facing difficulties due to personal circumstances.
Study associations and student organisations
Almost every study programme has a study association where you can get to know your fellow students better through activities, committees and study trips. It’s a great and accessible way to make friends if you’re new to Nijmegen.
Together on one campus
Our university has a single campus where all the buildings are close together. You’ll find everything you need for the day, such as a sports centre, cafés and restaurants, and a campus supermarket. It’s easy to meet students from all sorts of backgrounds here, so you’ll soon feel at home. Finished on campus? The city centre is just a 10-minute bike ride away.
Get to know student life
As a Bachelor's student, you’ll start with the Radboud Intro in August. Here, you’ll get to know your fellow students, the study association and Nijmegen. Are you coming to do a (pre-)Master's? Then there’s the Master’s Welcome Day in August.
Old city, young vibe
With around 46,000 students, Nijmegen is a real student city. Our beautiful city combines the best of both worlds, with its rich history as the country's oldest city and its vibrant atmosphere as a modern, international student hub.
Green, open and accessible
Because we have a single campus, you can easily walk or cycle from your lecture to a study area and from your lunch to the sports centre. Between the buildings, you’ll find lawns with picnic tables, wooded areas and a large park. It’s the perfect place to study and relax.
Discounted sports
There are over 80 different sports and cultural activities available on campus. This means there’s something for everyone. Almost every sport has its own club. And best of all: as a student, you can get a subscription at a significant discount.
Connection with business
In many study programmes, you’ll get to know associated businesses whilst you’re studying. Such as through internships (abroad) or career fairs. Do you want to start your own business? Receive free help and advice at The Launch.
