Requesting and activating a library card

Your campus card will need to be activated in RUQuest so that it can be used as a library card. You will do need to do this if you are using RUQuest for the first time or if you are borrowing materials from the University Library (UB), or if you have not used RUQuest or borrowed materials for twelve months. Once your account has been activated, you will need to wait one working day before you can use your card to borrow items. You may log in and use RUQuest right away.

How to activate your campus card so that it can be used as a library card

1. Go to ru.nl/ubn/ruquest and click the Login button at the top right of the page.
2. Select the first button to log in with your S-number or U-number and Radboud password; select the second button to log in with your Z-number. Don’t forget to select the ‘Remember my Selection’ box. This will prevent the screen from repeatedly being displayed.
3. You will be able to use your campus card to borrow and reserve items from the library’s collection one working day after you have completed your registration.
4. Your login account will be activated immediately, which means that you can now access the digital library.

As a registered retiree from Radboud University, your campus card may continue to be used as a library card. For this purpose, you will need to activate your campus card in RUQuest so that it can be used as a library card (if you didn’t do this before you retired).

• An identity document
• Proof of address (for example: a recent bank statement, salary slip, contract, or green insurance card)
• A declaration from your PhD supervisor

You will need to renew your library membership every year.

Your Alumni Benefits Card (with barcode) will need to be activated so that it can be used as a library card.

Please note: If you have not used your library card for twelve months, you will need to activate it in the same way. If you do not have an Alumni Benefits Card, you can request a new card.

• An identity document
• Proof of your affiliation with Radboud University

You will need to renew your library membership every year.

As a HAN student, you may use the Radboud University Library during your studies.

• Students: Proof of enrolment from Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences
• Staff members: A contract or a salary slip from Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences

You will need to renew your library membership every year.

• An identity document
• Proof of address (for example: a recent bank statement, salary slip, contract, or green insurance card)
• A student ID card or an OU card (if the card doesn’t include an academic year, you will need to show proof of enrolment)

Staff members

• An identity document
• Proof of affiliation with the relevant institution (e.g., a contract or payslip)

You will need to renew your library membership every year.

As a non-university borrower, you may apply online for a library card. You may also apply for a library card at one of the service desks. You will be issued with a library card for an additional fee upon presentation of an identity document. Cost: €22 per year, €15 per six months.
