Nijmegen: Old city, young vibe
Radboud University is located in Nijmegen, which might be the oldest city in the Netherlands, but it is definitely young at heart. Nijmegen is well known for its festivals, music venues and cinemas. It is a lively city, both in the daytime and in the evening. The large city parks and winding streets offer ample opportunity for beautiful scenic walks, while taking in the city’s historic buildings. You will find plenty to do in the countless cafés, bars and shops. And if you like to get out and explore the local wildlife, then Nijmegen is the right place for you. The surrounding forests, Ooijpolder nature reserve and city beaches on the Waal River all make for a fantastic day out in Nijmegen.
