Hagar Khermjioui

Hagar Khermjioui is Honours psychology student and recruiting Intern at McKinsey & Company. She worked as an HR Inclusion & Diversity and Health & Wellbeing intern at Phillips.

‘In my 7-month internship at Phillips, I worked as an HR Inclusion & Diversity and Health & Wellbeing intern full-time. I took a year of study break to explore my professional interests, which I can highly recommend. I learned a lot about the way of working at a global multinational, but also about myself and my vision for the future. Although I was based in Amsterdam, I got to meet people from all around the world. Learning about their values and different approaches to work and life was truly insightful. Task-wise, I was given the chance to set up campaigns, work with our internal networks and express my creativity in communication tasks. All by in all, a diverse package of projects.

What I absolutely liked during my internship was that I could see that our work made an impact on employees. My faith and (seeing) the impact fuel my motivation and inspiration. I encourage everybody to find their inner drive and find out what intrinsically motivates them. No matter what society says about you or about the group you belong to, I believe that you can achieve whatever you want. Work hard for it and do not let bias limit you!’
